It was an honor to be part of the #HERoSTEMProgramme! This incredible initiative was organized by the Xcalibur Foundation and the African Gifted Foundation. We supported young female students from the African Academy of Sciences to foster female participation in STEM fields. I spoke about the importance of soft skills in personal and professional development. I was deeply impressed by the engagement and energy of these future leaders!
We understand that technical skills are fundamental but not sufficient for achieving success. Soft skills – such as effective communication, teamwork, resilience, and leadership – play a crucial role in setting professionals apart and building solid careers.
The dialogue with these students reinforced my belief that investing in the development of these skills from an early stage is essential. The world is changing rapidly, and future professionals need to be adaptable and versatile.
It is vital to recognize the importance of considering not only technical expertise but also interpersonal and leadership skills. Professionals with a strong set of soft skills can excel in challenging environments and drive organizational growth.
